Stormtrooper Helmet

Model made with separate pieces, to be easy disassembled if needed, and held together with magnets for a strong bond between the parts.

About printing size and joining parts together

This helmet can be built two ways, you can either use 6x3mm magnets to be able to disassembly it and also store it in smaller places, or you can just glue everything together, or you can combine gluing with magnets.
I made this model thinking about hiding all the seams, so the original model is relatively big.
If your printer plate size can print the biggest part (F) measuring 23x29,5x11cm, use the STLs provided that are not compressed (not zipped in WinRAR).
If not, I also made a more divided model for smaller printers with the minimum size of 153.36 x 77.76 x 165 mm, the parts are located inside the HelmetSmall.Zip, and named accordingly with the images.
If you are using HelmetSmall.zip, you can choose to build it two ways:
- Connect ALL parts with Magnets (or glue some and magnet some):
Using magnets for all cuts would need 139 Magnets (6x3mm), the good thing about this is that you can disassembly the helmet in very small parts so it`s easier to store/transport it. The negative side is that the seams are gonna be visible.
- Instead of using magnets to connect the small parts together to form the whole parts (Aa+Ab+Ac+Ad=A...), print the Pin.stl part, and use it as a pin by inserting it on the magnet hole, to glue the Small parts together and then connect the whole parts with magnets like originally intended. This way you will need 81 Magnets (6x3mm) like the original design, and you can also sand the parts where they meet to make it look seamless.
- Glue everything without using any magnets.

update: fixed scale/orientation of the STLs due to differences with blender.

All parts are exported separately as STL, and named as shown in the exploded image. I also provide an STL called View that contains all the parts together, for easy previewing or if you want to scale it, and also the .blend (StormTrooperMagnetSTL) file for editing, if you want.

High poly count for smooth printing results (880K faces)

Optional holes to the mouth piece (D-1), you can choose between printing the D-1 piece with or without holes (both are provided)

Attention:

The Helmet is divided in parts that needs to be joined together with 6x3 Magnets like Neodyimium. If you want it adapted to another size of magnet, talk to me and I can do that. Just be mindful that it can't be much bigger than what already is because some parts are too thin to hold much larger magnets.

Also, some small parts need to be glued together cause they are too small to hold magnets, those parts are:

D-2 (Glass cover for the eyes. because they are (should be) semi-transparent)
A-2 (Detail on piece A-3)
F-1 and F-2 (F piece details)

Those parts have pins to help hold them together, please check what kind of glue is best for your material for best results.

Most details can be printed separately in their own color, but the blue detail on the bottom piece and the ''teeth'' needs to be painted/printed in their own color since they would be too small to be printed separately.

The Helmet dimensions are based on a 1.7m height person, it is very spacious inside so it shouldn't be a problem for anyone to wear, still if you think it won't fit, talk to me and I can make it bigger or smaller.

Check video for any clarification on how to join the parts together.
